VMC Pole (Welsh Assembly)

vmc_large_1The VMC Pole™ is a rotating and lowering counter balanced cantilevered pole. Supporting sign or surveillance equipment it will be mounted by side of the carriageway. The pole can be rotated off carriageway and then lowered for access to the equipment mounted on it to allow for repairs and regular maintenance. The inbuilt safety features ensure the pole must be fully rotated before the lowering mechanism can be driven.

Point Blank (New Designers Update)

SummaryPoint Blank was my final year project at university, see here, Point Blank, for more information. The University selected me along with a few other students to exhibit our final year projects at New Designers 2008, the biggest graduate exhibition in Europe.

New designers was just over a month away from when I finished my final year project, I was given this month to improve and tweak my project.

Point Blank (Final Year Project)

SummaryPoint Blank is a new way of packaging needles to protect medical professionals hands when re-capping needles, reducing the probability of accidents that can potentially cause HIV or hepatitis. The needles arrive on the ward within a sharps bin, this ensures there are enough sharps bins for the amount of needles on the ward, making handling needles safer.

Brabantia Bin

In KitchenBrabantia came to the University with the brief “The Bin of the Future” it was a group project and my group selected the sub brief “Technology and the Bin”. This was all about incorporating technology in a new and useful way within a bin. We created a bin called the “Weigh Bin” it encouraged people to recycle by tracking how much they through away.
